Atheism in decline

Guan Un / 1st March 2005

Or so says this article from the World Peace Herald.

Among its examples it gives are the loss of its “scientific underpinnings”, as shown by the renunciation of atheism by one of its leading proponents, philosopher Anthony Flew, and the immorality of atheism as a moral proposition: “With Stalin and Madalyn Murray O'Hair, atheism seems to have ended up mimicking the vices of the Spanish Inquisition and the worst televangelists, respectively”.

The article is also quick to point out that the decline in atheism is not naturally being replaced by Christianity, but rather by other forms of spirituality, indeed, perhaps a “re-paganization”.

The answer? Well, it could probably be argued both ways whether these signs are seen in our culture. Perhaps it's best to simply proclaim Christ crucified to pagan or atheist, and the rest will follow.
