Description
“I wrote this book to help Christians know where to start when it comes to understanding Islam and talking with their Muslim friends about the gospel. In my experience, the starting point is key...”
Samuel Green has spent more than two decades speaking with Muslims and finding out what they are taught about Jesus and his followers: that Jesus wasn’t crucified, the Bible is corrupted, and the Trinity is the weak point you won’t be able to explain. He has also come to realize that their book, the Qur’an, makes claims about Christianity and history that simply aren’t true.
Where to Start with Islam will equip you to understand and address these assumptions and know where to begin as you seek to present your Muslim friends with Christ and share with them about his wonderful gift of salvation.
This book covers how to share the gospel, incarnation, Trinity and cross with a Muslim. It assesses Muhammad as a prophet, answers the Muslim claims against the Bible, and gives you the relevant history you need to get started.
It's the approach to sharing the gospel with Muslims that doesn't require knowing all about Islam; it's all about knowing Christianity better.

Recommendations
I have lived in the Middle East for 20 years. I don’t know of anyone who has done better work in understanding and answering the challenges of Islam than Samuel Green. Any Christian who wants to respond to Muslims with love and truth needs this book.
—J. Mack Stiles, Pastor of Erbil International Baptist Church, Iraq, and former IFES General Secretary in DubaiWhere to Start with Islam delivers just what it promises. Drawing on years of gracious, yet robust, engagement with Muslims, Samuel Green offers Christians an excellent primer to negotiating the religious discussions they will very likely have with Muslim friends and neighbours. Biblical, detailed and practical, I recommend it highly!
—Richard Shumack, Director, Arthur Jeffery Centre for the Study of Islam, Melbourne School of TheologyWhere to Start with Islam is a wonderfully practical and clear provision to help Christians rise to the challenge of presenting the gospel to Muslims. Elegantly weaving love and truth together, Samuel Green has distilled deep wisdom and decades of face-to-face experience with Muslims into this beautifully lucid and comprehensive book. With consummate skill, Green equips readers to bring the challenge of the gospel home to their Muslim neighbours.
—Mark Durie, Pastor and author, MelbourneWhere to Start with Islam is a practical, respectful and informative contribution for Christians to understand the complexity of Islam and to love Muslims as God does. Muslims are coming to Christ in multitudes, and Christians ought not to be driven by fear and hate but by love and passion for Christ. This book will empower you to share your faith with your Muslim neighbour as never before.
—Ayman S. Ibrahim, Associate Professor of Islamic Studies, Southern Baptist Theological SeminarySome experts calculate that, at the current rate of growth, Islam will become the world’s dominant religion by 2070. There are various reasons for this, one of which is that historically the church has avoided mission to Muslims. We have not gone out to them—but now they are coming to us. Unsurprisingly, there has never been a time when so many Muslims are searching for and finding the real Jesus. Now is the time to join in the harvest. Samuel Green’s three decades of experience compressed into this book will help you do just that.
—Dr Stuart Robinson, Author and Research Fellow, Arthur Jeffrey Centre, Melbourne School of TheologyThis book is of the usual high standard I have come to expect from Samuel Green. Samuel demonstrates a deep grasp of Islamic belief and practice, but he knows how to cut through the details to highlight the aspects relevant to engaging Muslims in Australia. Sam has left me feeling able and keen to begin conversations with Muslims.

A great insight into how to approach the bible with Muslims. Enjoying it so far!
JJo S.I myself from a country of the biggest muslim population in the world. Hv been involved in debate wth muslims & atheists on several social media platforms.. I've been buying ths book (probably around 10) & sending it together CP to certain public figures inside & outside Australia. I compare ths book wth Christian Prince/ CP "The Deception of Allah". His book is straight away exposing the lies about islam, shocking truths, but not talking about history. Green's book : polite (a good way to make a bridge to muslim), explaining the source of quran is mainly from the Jewish's prophets in Tanakh or in the Christian's Bible as The Old Testament & little bit in the New Testament (about Jesus & the Revelation). Muslims called as The Stories of The Prophets, some frequently asked & false accusations from muslims towards Christian, history (Suni vs Shiah, wrong accusation about The Crusade War, the Mongol attack, the slavery & the way to move forward. Ths book expands my horizon about the truth of islam but not revealing as CP. Both are full filing each other. Thumbs-up up.
NNicki B.This is a fantastic read. I bought 3 copies so I could lend them to other Christians. It is unlike any other book on evangelism I have ever read, and enabled me to recommence the conversation with a Moslem friend who I didn't know how to progress with, because it tailors the conversation to what Moslems are interested in and accept as true. I was able to show my Moslem friend that the Koran states that Jesus created birds from clay, and that as creator, Jesus is God.
CChristelleJust want to express my appreciation for Samuel Green’s book ‘Where to Start with Islam’ which I’ve just finished reading.
I learnt more about my own faith in the process and feel better equipped to engage in meaningful conversation with Muslim friends.
The history covered in Chapter 10 in particular gave the bigger picture which I had lacked before.
I thank the Lord for this publication and pray it may be used with great fruitfulness by many in future.DDeclan E.Samuel Green’s book isn’t just another book on Islam for Christians, to gather dust on your shelf. Where to Start with Islam is designed to teach Christians about Islam not from the Quran and the Hadiths, but from the Bible. Time spent studying the Bible is never wasted; Green allows the study of the Bible and how it is perceived by the Quran to inform how we as Christians can relate to Muslims. The book shows how asking a few potent questions and opening your Bible to its contents page can stop even seemingly well-informed Muslims in their tracks. Each chapter includes a bullet-point summary to remind you how to apply it and evangelistic booklets for most of the chapters are available to download on Samuel Green’s website, so you have some resources to give your Muslim friend.
This is the book I would recommend for engaging with Muslims above all others (with the notable exception of the Bible). That is not to say that there aren’t many fantastic resources out there. However, Samuel Green’s book contains unique and easy-to-apply insights on evangelism to Muslims, while also exhibiting a deep understanding of Islam’s holy texts. For these reasons, I would encourage every Christian to read this book, especially those who are seeking to engage well with Muslims.
