This presentation of the gospel, carefully written and illustrated for young readers (roughly ages 7-11), is based on the Two Ways to Live outline and illustrations. With simple, clear language, but concern for the sensitivity of younger children, it is ideal for Scripture classes in schools, Sunday School lessons, beach missions, camps or just to give to young friends and family members.
It has been updated in 2023 with small text adjustments to match the refreshed Two Ways to Live.
It's also available as an activity book and in Chinese.
Very clear + succinct. Simple, effective illustrations. Biblically accurate.

It seems to me that some publishers and writers think there are two Gospels - one for adults and one for children. Often what I find being presented as the Gospel for children is not really the Gospel at all - at least not fully. Matthias understands that God saves children the same way he saves adults. We can certainly clarify terms and help children understand by using language and art that they comprehend - but the message is the same.
That is why I like "Who Will Be King?" It is the only Gospel booklet or tract that I give children and parents. I also use it in my teacher training to help adults who work with kids present the Gospel carefully and fully. This is one resource that I make sure to never run out of.

Unfortunately, the majority of primary aged children these days are unchurched. I teach scripture to third grade children and was becoming very frustrated with the curriculum we were using because it expected children to know about the bible and God. Often before I could start the lesson I had to do a lot of explaining, the children became bored and unsettled.
Since I discovered "Who Will be King?"lessons*, teaching has become easier because the children have a starting point and the lessons are well written and at their level of understanding. Thank you Matthias Media for this great publication and lesson material to go with the booklet. Teacher and children much happier!!

This 17 page children's booklet is a mini-me version of the grown-up Two Ways to Live course. Like the original booklet, it is a faithfull six part summary of the core truths of the Christianity. Each of the six sections has one page of brightly coloured illustrations followed by one page of child-friendly text.
Finishing with a 'sorry', 'thank you', 'please', prayer and relevant Bible verses, it is aimed largely at unchurched children aged 7-11.
Designed to explain these truths simply, the tone, thankfully, is not patronising. It's clear, salty and does not 'talk down' to children.
I found it particularly usefull this year at Halloween. Along with chocolate Freddo frogs and jelly baby lollies, Mum and I gave away 41 of these tracts to the neighbourhood children 'trick or treating'. Instead of the usual uncomfortable mixture of dread and apologetic guilt, for the first October 31, we both felt hope and confidence at every knock at the door.
This high quality booklet could be happily used at holiday kids clubs, school scripture classes, camps or tucked into Christmas stockings. Keep a few on hand ready to give away. Sure to become a classic children's tract.
