This is a great little book to start the day with during advent. Chase has chosen well from the many parts of the bible commonly used during advent, but added a bunch more to challenge us to think beyond the birth of Jesus to how we should think about his return and how we live in the meantime.

We have found this beautiful presented book to be both inspiring and encouraging. A perfect gift for believers in Advent and also instructive and kind for seekers of Christ.

I needed a gift to thank a large group of Christian friends for their support. A book? As I looked at different topics, I didn't feel there was 1 title that would suit all. But as an advent devotional, 'Waiting for the Christ' met the need. It is reflective, deep, and thoughtfully written. It is beautifully presented in a slip cover (and by buying in bulk I got the lowest price).

'Waiting for the Christ' is very helpful for focusing our attention on Jesus. It can be used in the lead up to Christmas or at any other time. I am appreciative that the four parts that divide the book have a Biblical shape or story line, while the daily devotionals identify and convey Biblical truths from their respective passages in a straight forward, interesting, and challenging way. I would recommend this book to anyone who desires to know more about the person of Jesus, is trying to refocus on the person of Jesus, or wants to know just what difference Jesus' first and second comings make to the Christian Life.

Loved reading this advent devotion. It helped me to lift my eyes and treasure the promises for both the first and second coming of Christ and encouraged me to serve Christ without fear with holiness and righteousness all my days in the in-between. Loved it
